Subscribing to notifications

You can configure Pexip Control Center to send email notifications each time an endpoint goes offline or comes back online. You do this by setting up a subscription that includes the email addresses the notifications will be sent to, and then adding one or more endpoints to the subscription.

Notification emails are sent from no-reply@pexip.me.

Notification events

Currently, a notification will be sent each time:

  • a video system has a successful SIP registration (status changes to "online")

  • a video system becomes unregistered (status changes to "offline")

One email is sent per endpoint event. If a number of endpoints in the same subscription go offline or come back online at the same time (for example, during a power outage), an email will be sent for each endpoint.

Notification limits

To protect against spam, there are limits to the number of notifications sent per subscription in a given time period:

  • 15 per minute
  • 100 per hour
  • 500 per day
  • 1500 per week
  • 4500 per thirty days

Any further notifications will be discarded.

Unsubscribing from notifications

Individual email recipients can stop receiving notifications for a particular subscription by clicking on the "Click here to unsubscribe" link at the bottom of every email that is sent. This will remove their email address from the list of recipients in PCC for that subscription. Note that they will continue to receive notifications for any other subscriptions for which they are a recipient.

Alternatively, an administrator can remove the email recipient's address from the subscription.
